Spellman Brady Increases NCIDQ Certified Interior Designers

St. Louis, MO (June 25, 2019)Spellman Brady & Company (SBC) is proud to announce that three interior designers – Rachel Bartelsmeyer, Stephanie Graf and Trisha Militello – have earned their National Council of Interior Design Qualification (NCIDQ) Certification. With their recent accomplishment, SBC’s professional staff of NCIDQ interior designers has increased to 50%.

Prior to applying for the NCIDQ Examination each interior designer must be college educated and have a minimum of 1,760 hours of interior design work experience. After CIDQ approved eligibility, each of the three designers took and passed the entire NCIDQ Exam consisting of three separate exams; the Fundamentals Exam (IDFX), the Professional Exam (IDPX), and the Practicum Exam (PRAC). By achieving NCIDQ, each designer has proven her expertise in understanding and applying current codes established to protect public health, safety and welfare.

Rachel Bartelsmeyer graduated from Kansas State University where she earned a Bachelor of Science, Interior Design & Gerontology. She has eight years of working experience and joined SBC in April 2017.

Stephanie Graf has a Bachelor of Fine Arts, Interior Design from Maryville University. She joined SBC in September 2015 and has a total of nine years of working experience.

Trisha Militello received her Bachelor of Fine Arts, Interior Design from Maryville University. While at Maryville, she interned with SBC and upon graduation in May 2015 joined the firm.

NCIDQ Certification is the industry’s recognized standard of proficiency in interior design principles and a designer’s commitment to the profession. St. Louis, MO (February 5, 2019)Spellman Brady & Company (SBC) is proud to announce that Christa Barr, designer and account manager, has earned her National Council of Interior Design Qualification (NCIDQ) Certification. With Ms. Barr’s recent accomplishment, SBC’s professional staff of NCIDQ interior designers has increased to over 25%.

Ms. Barr has a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree of Interior Design from Maryville University and has over 13 years’ experience, which are all part of the prerequisite to apply for the NCIDQ Examination. After CIDQ approved her eligibility, Ms. Barr took and passed the entire NCIDQ Exam consisting of three separate exams; the Fundamentals Exam (IDFX), the Professional Exam (IDPX), and the Practicum Exam (PRAC). Amanda Renshaw Latest to Receive EDAC

 

 

 

St. Louis, MO (May 7, 2018)Spellman Brady & Company is proud to announce that Amanda Renshaw, designer, has earned her Evidence-based Design Accreditation and Certification (EDAC®). Ms. Renshaw is the most recent Spellman Brady designer to receive EDAC, which brings the firm’s designers to over 20% certified.

Evidence-Based Design (EBD) is the process of basing healthcare facility planning and design decisions about the built environment on credible research to achieve the best possible patient, staff and operational outcomes. Research evidence attests to the fact that the physical environment impacts patient stress, patient and staff safety, staff effectiveness and quality of care provided in hospitals and other healthcare settings.

In order to earn EDAC, Ms. Renshaw passed a two-hour, 110-question multiple-choice exam. The exam’s five sections tested her on EBD in healthcare, the research process, the pre-design process, construction, and occupancy. The exam certifies professional’s ability to practice the EBD process.
