DESIGNER / FF&E PRODUCT SPECIALIST

We are currently seeking a Designer / FF&E Product Specialist to join our team. This position is responsible for:

  • Working with clients, project consultants, project managers, and team members to plan, develop, and execute the conceptual design of projects utilizing creativity, foresight, organization, and judgment to meet expectations, schedule, and budget
  • Developing practical, safe, and innovative design concepts while adhering to all applicable building codes to ensure project completion
  • Developing conceptual design ideas by preparing digital 2D and 3D design drawing and renderings
  • Selecting color and material palettes, selection and specification of interior finishes, furniture, lighting, flooring, wall covering, soft goods, and signage for all phases of the procurement process
  • Maintaining detailed product knowledge and participating in manufacturer product training
  • Collaborating with vendors and manufactures throughout the specification and proposal processes
  • Effectively listening and communicating with other disciplines, vendors, and contractors to express information, thoughts, and ideas both verbally and in writing, to establish rapport that promotes long-term positive relationships with all SBC stakeholders
  • In conjunction with the Installation Manager, assist with entire installation coordination process by producing installation drawings, attending installations, guiding installers, communicating with clients, creating, and resolving FF&E punch lists
  • Applying knowledge of SBC’s core values, goals, and objectives Providing exemplary customer service to external and internal stakeholders
  • Implementing and utilizing SBC Standards for all projects and processes
  • Appropriately make suggestions, express ideas and methods that could improve current standards and processes
  • Utilizing resources responsibly
  • Adhering to SBC policies and procedures
  • Demonstrating the ability to make sound, well considered, honest, and fair decisions
  • Consistently strive for excellence by demonstrating willingness to accept responsibility for actions, take on additional responsibilities, pushing for optimum results, conveying a sense of urgency, participating in professional development activities
  • Producing high quality, accurate work in an effective and efficient manner, sometimes with a short turnaround
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Skills:

  • Demonstrated creativity, passion, and interest in design and planning services
  • Strong knowledge of operational, technical design, and regulatory requirements for the markets we serve
  • Dealership experience preferred
  • Advance knowledge of furniture, fixture, and equipment (FF&E), architectural details/interior finishes, lighting, signage, art, and color schemes to carryout design intent
  • Knowledge of building regulations and safety codes
  • Proficiency in Revit, BIM 360, and AutoCAD
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, including Photoshop and InDesign
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, including Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint
  • Ability to effectively meet deadlines and provide high quality customer service
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Proficiency in CAP, CET, and Project Spec
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a strong work ethic

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree related to architecture, interior design, or equivalent
  • Minimum of 8 years professional experience in interiors projects with significant experience
  • NCIDQ certified preferred

STUDENT INTERN

We are currently seeking a Student Intern who is professional, creative, a problem solver and idea generator to join our team. If you are a self-motivated individual who loves collaborating, working in a fun, fast-paced environment, and making a difference in the lives others, this is a great opportunity for you!

This is a part-time paid internship (not to exceed 30 hours). Preferably on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays. Please submit your resume and portfolio to Jessica Flannery at hr@spellmanbrady.com.

Responsibilities are, and not limited to, the following:

  • Update and organize interior library
  • Prepare Finish Boards
  • Order Finish Samples
  • Perform Tasks in a timely manner
  • Be a great resource for the designers and assist with project work as needed
  • Participate in weekly Intern Meeting
  • Request quotes from manufacturers
  • Meet with sales representatives and attend meetings

Required skills:

  • Basic proficiency in Outlook, Excel and Word
  • Basic proficiency in CAD and Revit a plus
  • Ability to work both in a team environment and independently
  • Ability to communicate well verbally and in writing
  • Effectively meet deadlines
  • Self-motivated, positive attitude, and enjoys working with others
